BIOGRAPHY OF MELISSA YOUNG
 Born in upstate New York, Melissa Young, lived in five states before settling in North Carolina. She attended the College of New Jersey where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a minor in Marketing. After graduating from college, Melissa moved to Southern California and eventually to Tucson, Arizona where she worked in marketing for a privately owned chain of bookstores called Bookmans. Looking for more of a challenge, Melissa applied to and was accepted by Pennsylvania State University’s Dickinson School of Law. During law school, Melissa participated in a summer internship program with the Orange County District Attorney’s office in Orange County, New York. She was also selected as one of two interns for Pennsylvania’s Office of the Attorney General, Environmental Crimes Section where she aided in the enforcement of both state and federal environmental regulations. Melissa earned her Juris Doctor in 2005. After graduating from law school, she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where she practiced in residential real estate and wills. Melissa joined Alan Gordon Immigration Law in December of 2006.
