BIOGRAPHY OF MIGUEL A. MANNA
Miguel Manna a native of Caracas Venezuela moved to the United States from Tokyo, Japan. After living and studying in Japan and Connecticut, Miguel Manna moved to Charlotte in 1995 to obtain a bachelors degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He graduated in 1998 with a major in Political Science and a minor in International Studies. Miguel was president of the Pre-Law Society at UNC-Charlotte.
After graduation Miguel worked for Womble, Carlyle, Sandrige and Rice as a litigation support specialist. He then worked with the Law Offices of Charles L. Morgan, as a paralegal and with Christopher A. Connelly P.A. as a paralegal and court certified interpreter.
In August of 2001, Miguel began the study of law at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. While in Law School, Miguel was a member of the Hispanic Law Student Association, The Hispanic Bar, and successfully participated in the Immigration Clinic sponsored by the Center for Legal and Social Justice. Miguel received the Francisco Leos award for “Excellence in Clinical Studies,” for his representation of immigrants before the Executive Office of Immigration Review. Miguel also received the John R. Dougherty diversity scholarship. Miguel received his Juris Doctor degree with a Pro Bono Service Award on May 25 th, 2004. After successfully sitting for the Texas Bar examination Miguel started the practice of law with Alan Gordon Immigration Law in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Miguel is a member of the Texas Young Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Miguel has recently joined the Latin American Chamber of Commerce and the Austrian Culture Society.
Miguel is committed to the practice of law and making a positive impact in the lives of immigrants. He is also working closely with local leaders for common-sense reforms to our immigration laws. Miguel feels a natural connection with the multi-cultural community and believes that Charlotte is a perfect place for exposing all the benefits of diversity.
